This is, of course, the one and only Woodward Dream Cruise, an all-day, all-encompassing, all-immersive celebration of American car culture that's become a bucket-list stop for car show fanatics everywhere.
As a Ford dealer in Royal Oak, we love this event, which this year will be happening on Saturday, August 16, 2025. On the big day, the streets of Royal Oak become a showcase of the industry's greatest hits, including countless classic Ford cars like the original Mustang, the first-generation Bronco and other watershed models from the brand's long and rich history.

01 What is the Woodward Dream Cruise?
It's an all-day event where classic cars parade down the famous Woodward Avenue. Participating cars follow a 16-mile route that passes through nine Detroit suburbs, including Royal Oak, home of our Ford dealership. In fact, the parade route passes right in front of our showroom.
02 How many cars go to the Woodward Dream Cruise?
Over 40,000 cars attend! Yes, you read that right. This really is the world's biggest Cruise!
03 Are there events happening during the Woodward Dream Cruise?
Oh, absolutely. Every community the Cruise route passes through usually hosts at least one fun family-friendly event. In Royal Oak, there's an official Woodward Dream Cruise Merchandise tent that will be set up along the route and open all day, and you can also find the Performance Park Classic Car Show happening from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. if you want to get up close and personal with some antique rides.
04 Is the Woodward Dream Cruise free?
Yes, it's a free event. Simply find a great viewing spot along Woodward Avenue and enjoy spotting your favorite cars of yesteryear.
05 I own a classic car. Can I participate in the cruise?
Yes! It's free for anyone to spectate or participate in the Woodward Dream Cruise. All the organization asks is that, if you do want to drive the route the day of the cruise but don't have a classic car, you stay out of the right two lanes nearest the curb.
06 Will Royal Oak Ford be open the day of the cruise?
No, we'll be closed, enjoying the festivities of what's perhaps the biggest event of the year in Royal Oak. Of course, we'll be open the days before and after the event as usual, so if you're ready to buy a new Ford or need to book auto service, we're ready to help!
